1978 Firebird Formula

This 1978 Trans Am has only 34.499 original miles the car still wears its original factory lacquer paint. This car is a extreme rare HOOD BIRD DELETE, you can see on build sheet shown below it does not have the code WW7 for hood bird. This is a 4 owner car, read leter at bottom of this listing. This car came from Oregon, always stored in heated dry garage. Last owner purchased the car in year 2000 and brought to Florida , last 9 years spent here in Florida always garaged . He told us had only put about 3000 miles since year 2000. The car is basically a true Survivor, I have letter from original owners showing miles and paint are original, also have a car appraisal stating the car was in top shape back in 2000, you can read it below.

This incredible Trans am came fully loaded with options, highly desirable w72 400 ci 6,6 litre Pontiac performance package for the engine, A/C, tilt wheel, Power windows, Power locks, Power trunk, Hurst hatches, G80 posi rear end, car came with polysteel radial tires which are a 2nd set they bought, this set was put away after using very little, they still have incredible tread, also car has 15 x 8 deep dish snowflakes that were installed back in the day since they liked them better than rally wheels that with car, the rims are like new, as well as the center caps...and last and not the least a dealer installed radar detector , how rare is that?

Car still shines and reflexion on paint is very good, but keep in mind is 31 years old paint, it does have few nicks, lights scratches, read letter from previous owner shown below.

Interior in this car is close to new condition, no rips or cuts on seats, no fading, no cracks in dash, just take a look:

trunk is rust free as the whole car is, it does have original trunk mat, original spare tire and jack, original red oxide primer with factory splatter paint.

the floors are perfect and rust free,you can still see red oxide primer in some areas, also notice single pipe like factory that ends in a "Y" shape pipe

original build sheet found intact behind rear seats, also have PHS window sticker from Pontiac

Last thoughts, this car is in extreme good shape, paint as said is original and therefore does not look like a brand new paint job, it does look very good from 10 feet, and it does have few imperfections but for a survivor is excellent, paint in the 70's was not the best, I am sure if you like originality you will be able to live with it. The car drives excellent, no rattles, no knocks, very solid, it always starts when you turn the key with no hesitation. All power options are working as they should, A/C blows cold, the clock works intermittently , to find a TA in this good shape after 31 years is very hard.
