This car was sold by us to our client last year, he kindly asked us to listed for sale due to a need of cash, car is in the same good shape with only few miles added, about 100 miles only . Car is located in Torrance California.

This is a very Special 1978 TA with T-Tops , it has a high performance 455 ci V8 engine and Doug Nash 5 Speed transmission (Richmond) less than 100 miles on it. Overall shape of the car is a 9.5 out of 10 with 10 being flawless (I don't think there is perfection in these old cars, but this is close to it)

There has been over $48,000 invested in this car the past 12 years! This car got the best of everything with no expense spared. The car has been restored and no rust issues are present. The engine is all new within the last 4 years and has only 4990 miles on the professional rebuild. It has a custom rebuilt 462 cubic inch Pontiac motor that produces 500 horses and 540 foot pounds of torque on 93 plus octane, drive it anywhere! This car is very drivable and dependable and has all around great performance. It has a Doug Nash 5 speed with a 3.08 rear which is equivalent to 4.56 1st and 1 to 1 in 5th...radical off the line acceleration and great highway cruising. This car will nail you in the seat as you floor it. And the tires would get literally fried with absolutely no effort, you will really need slicks in order to handle the power.

The car has been lowered 2 inches and sits on original refinished to perfection snowflakes 15 x 8 with brand new Goodyear Eagle II radial tires. When I sold the car it had the 4 tires same size, my client upgraded the rear tires with slight wider ones see pics (click here) . however the original size goes with the car. All the receipts, manuals and literature for this car is included. Oh yeah, even the dyno sheets are included! It would cost well over $45K to buy a stock TA and put into it what's already been done to this. This car has been restored over the last 12 years. It was never given the second best of anything. The engine alone has over $14K in parts and labor (Jim Buttler Performance) . The interior has over $3k invested in it. The transmission, bell housing, shifter, drive-shaft total over are the best and very expensive equipment. .

The stereo system plus installation was over $4K. with subwoofers, amps and too many other things to list now.

Gauges were individually installed on the original swirled bezel, they look just amazing and will help you to keep real readings of engine behavior. The suspension upgrades, wheels, tires cost over $3500.00. The engine is tight and runs perfect. The car has just had a new clutch installed and the engine was totally resealed with fel-pro gaskets and neoprene 2 piece rear main seal. The carb was also rebuilt with edelbrock rebuild kit and performs flawlessly. You can drive this car anywhere without fear of overheating or breaking down-very reliable!

The transmission as said is brand new, and rear end are in perfect working condition. The suspension is tight with solid motor mounts and subframe connectors-very muscle car / race feeling. The car handles like it is on rails due to being lowered 2 inches and having polyurethane body bushings. Be aware, it sounds like a jet going down the street and thumps at idle due to large cam. The body is perfect with no dents no scratches, showroom finish.

Undercarriage is perfect and painted with POR15 and undercoated to keep it that way. Also rubberized and undercoated under the carpeting to protect the perfect factory floorboards and trunk. This car has never been abused . This car is set up for great street performance and reliability.

Anyone looking for a great showroom Trans Am and a extreme fast machine will not be disappointed.

This car is not set up for emissions but can be made so with minor carb adjustments, catalytic converters and charcoal canister. I am the owners of Trans Am Specialties and I can say this is my favorite Trans Am due to its power and shape. This car is a true rocket, will smoke any other vehicle, including any modern expensive exotic car . This car could easily appear in any hot rod magazine.
