This car started its life in California in 1982 as one of the rare black firebird trans-am T-tops. It originally had a black interior, but other than that it was THE correct car that Universal studios used to build it's Knight Rider super-cars. The initial KITT conversion was built in the 90's using the best available Knight Rider parts. A new replacement ZZR performance motor and high performance carb were installed about 13,000 miles ago, along with a Marks Custom front "nose" 6 front fog lights and a complete Knight Rider dashboard and upper roof console, with an unfinished lower console. The car then came into current owner's hands about three years ago.
Since then the interior has been changed to the show correct tan interior all with original OEM parts.
It has the correct original turbocast 15" wheels (not 14") and nearly new high speed rated cobra tires.
Front end has been rebuilt replacing all the worn original rubber and bushings.
All fluids were drained and replaced as well as gas tank removed and cleaned.
New after market air filter shaped similar to the custom KITT steering wheel.
The dashboard electronics are by Jupiter Electronics one of the top Knight Rider electronic manufacturers.
The lower console is a fully functioning control panel, working the fog lights, headlights, power windows, interior light,
power antenna, and features buttons for your super upgrades (included are plans to add working smoke screen)
Upper console has control of power trunk release, keyless start, power door locks, power windows, tripometer set and reset,
as well as show correct "beeps" when other buttons are pushed.
Dash has digital and bar displays for speedometer, odometer, tripometer, Oil pressure, water temp and gas gauge.
In dash media unit features functioning rear view color camera with night vision, DVD player, touch screen AM/FM radio, CD player with touch screen controls, bluetooth phone, as well as inputs for your computer, digital TV. (manual included)
ONE OF A KIND Knight Rider wrist car controller is included as well.
Wristband watch controls alarm on and off, remote trunk release, auto engine start, power window controls, auto window close when locked and many other features. Also has internal back light for "night missions"! (all Manuals included)
Rear taillight black out is one piece, and has been customized to fit into rear of car.
T-tops are OEM with custom made sun shields covered with correct tan material.

This car was driven by the one and only star of the original Knight Rider TV show, DAVID HASSELHOFF for his new show "The Hasselhoffs" that debuts this November when the Hoff got a "hoffdog" named after him at Pinks Hotdogs in Hollywood!

The car will also be profiled in Germany on the TV car show "GRIP" on October 10th and 11th (Check youtube after air date).

The car is also signed by David Hasselhoff, as well as Michael Schiffe the original Designer of KITT, as well as Ron Martinez one of the shows producers.
Also included is a replica of the "KNIGHT" original California license plate, display disks for your dvd dash screen, and audio clips of KITT talking from the original series so you can make your own custom CD's of what you want KITT to say in the original voice of William Daniels!

Also included is a photocopy of the original script I used at Universal Studios in 1984 to make KITT talk! The current owner worked at Universal Studios Hollywood and was the voice of the KITT car on display in the park, and would chat with fans from a secret location! You get not only a copy of the script and fact sheets, but the actual Universal window sticker mounted on a card that he used when working at the park! it is also include souvenirs from the Comedy Central Roast of David Hasslehoff, where 25 years later he again got to perform as KITT by operating the fog lights KITT car to "talk" to the "Hoff".
If you are a fan of the show, you know that most every car seen on the show was eventually destroyed from "Turbo boost" so if you want a Knight Rider KITT that has been driven by and performed with the "HOFF" on screen, with working wristwatch-activation unit and updated electronics this is your only chance to be the Knight Rider or have this car in your collection!

Owner also states will provide the following: Many photos will be included with purchase of David Hasselhoff with the car, and the car at other Hollywood events over the last year. Video clips are also included, and are currently on youtube and around the web of the Hoff washing and dancing on this car.
CONDITION: Over all it's practically a new car, but there are a few tiny dings I haven't had repaired yet. There is a short thin scratch in the driver door edge that is hard to see, but it was David's boot that made it, when he was dancing on the car, so I left it!
There is also a car wash stain on the back of the driver seat from the taping day with the Hoff. Some cleaner spilled but most washed out. Just want to make sure I state everything I can think of. Please ask questions if you don't find the info here. Also in the last heat wave here of a week over 100 degrees, the steering wheel developed a crack. I will buy and include a replacement steering wheel with the purchase of the car.
TITLE INFORMATION UPDATE: A "salvage" notice came up on this vin, that the last three owners deny, and it was never on any pink slip dating back to the "notice".   It is under investigation, but I have been driving this car 250 miles a week for a while, and have been over the car every inch. I have found no performance problems, driving problems, or any indication it was ever in an accident.   I have started an inquiry into the sudden addition to the carfax, that supposedly happened in 1996 (14 years ago).
Three owners have owned the car since that time, all three had clear titles, and the current title (pink slip) also shows the title as clear.

MILEAGE INFORMATION: As this car has changed hands a few times since 1982, and the dash and gauges were removed in 1997ish I can not know the exact miles on this chassy. The motor was replaced with the zzr motor probably less than 15,000 miles ago, but that is an educated guess. I have had it tuned up and gone over, and it runs and performs with more power than the original v8, that is for sure.   CALIFORNIA buyers be aware that it may not pass all requirements for SMOG if you want to drive it every day. It is currently a show car but if you want to be the Knight Rider every day, you may have to sacrifice some horsepower at the next smog check!
