Up for sale this highly collectible 1978 Trans Am Special Edition Y84, according to Pontiac production numbers only 68 Trans Am with automatic transmission and Y84 SE package were ever made, this is 1 of those  68 cars (see original build sheet at the bottom of the listing), the highlight here was the fact Hurst t tops were discontinued and this was one of the few dozen SE models that received the new Fisher t tops, the code Y82 was dropped then and Y84 took it's place. When we found the car it was in excellent solid condition, still had original paint from factory, but was faded. We slowly started to do a freshen up of this beauty to take her to its former glory, first we stripped the original paint to the metal and then she was repainted in BC/CC, then was wet sanded and buffed to mirror finish, new GM SE package decals were applied. The wheels were also reconditioned to its correct factory style which includes paint on top  the ribbed edges (see bulletin of march 1978) the engine was also detailed to show condition . Very little was needed on the interior which is mostly all original and in great condition for a 37 year old car, as you will notice is fully loaded with options: PW, PL, rear defogger, A/C, radio and *track player (it works flawlessly) , tilt wheel  etc... You probably already now that TA's are the next  big hit and one of the most collectible cars in the market, rare ones will get to 6 figures soon, just as other cars did in the past, this one is rare and a  great investment .
