We are presenting this beautiful matching numbers 1970 Buick GS 455 belonging to one of our customers. He purchased this vehicle about 4 years ago as a keeper but because of two on-going projects, he needs to sell it. He purchased the vehicle as an original mileage (56,192 miles), original interior and matching numbers vehicle. When he purchased the vehicle it had two non matching items; the steering wheel and the center caps. Other than that, to the best of his knowledge, everything is original except for some mechanical upgrades he had done that is detailed below. In fact, the original GM embossed mufflers were replaced at that time. OPTIONS: The vehicles options are: Automatic, A/C, Tilt wheel, AM-FM, 8-track, Tissue Dispenser, Clock and Gauge Package. EXTERIOR: The vehicle had a repaint before he purchased it and the paint job is outstanding with the exception of a couple of minor nicks. There is absolutely no rust and the panels appear to be all original. The quarter panels in particular are exceptional which is hard to find. Not to say that the rest of the panels aren't equally as outstanding as seen in the pictures. The undercarriage is exceptional. It is not undercoated and it is perfect. INTERIOR: The interior is equally as exceptional. Except for the steering wheel which, as is explained, is not original, everything else is outstanding. The radio is a little temperamental and will not work from time to time. It lights up so it is probably a minor problem. . . . .but a problem none the less. MECHANICALS: The torque and power of these engines is well known and there is no exception here. The following was replaced to improve the vehicle: Oil Pump (Stage 1), 112A Cam and Lifters, Timing Chain, Rocker Assemblies and Pushrods, all from Poston Buick. In addition, the oil improvement modification to the timing chain cover was also done. Also replaced was the battery, radiator, rear springs and shock absorbers. The carburetor was professionally rebuilt and works like a charm. The transmission has a mild street shift kit, new shift modulator and was resealed but not rebuilt, as it works perfectly. The Brake Master Cylinder was rebuilt and re-Zinc Chromated (for looks only) as the original Zinc had worn off. The rear end is a 3.42 Posi, is an add-on and has been rebuilt. All these improvements are just that, for improvement sake and done because the owner is fanatical in the up keep of his vehicles. The pictures do not do this car justice and the winner will not be disappointed. |
