1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Z Code 4-Speed Manual!

This car just arrived on consignment. It’s a stunning Code 50         Solar Gold 1979 Trans Am with a factory 4-speed manual transmission (only a very small number of Trans Ams were made with the 400 ci Pontiac engine in 1979, which was the final year this engine was available. All 400 ci engines came paired exclusively with the 4-speed manual transmission, representing about 10% or less of total production. The rest featured automatic transmissions with 403 ci Oldsmobile engines, or small-block 301 and 305 engines for markets like California).
This is the one you want: 400/4-speed with the WS6 package!
The car is overall in great condition and would perform well at local shows. It was repainted in recent years and still looks fantastic, with minor flaws typical of a car that has been driven. The quarter panels appear to be original when we used magnet tester.
The underside is solid and in better condition than most ’79 models currently for sale out there.

Under the hood, the car has the correct PWH 400 ci Pontiac block, which appears to have a mild camshaft and sounds strong through real dual exhaust with dual Flowmaster mufflers (*see video below). The suspension has been upgraded with Hotchkis components, a big plus for performance and handling.
